9th National Convention of Prison Ministry to be held in Mysore

A national Christian voluntary organisation working for the release, reformation and rehabilitation of prisoners, will conduct the IXth National Convention of Prison Ministry in Karnataka from 8 – 11 Nov, said a spokesman.

The event report stated atleast 300 delegates from different parts of the country to be participating in the 4 day convention which is themed: "We are human."

On the first day of the panel discussion, Member of Parliament and former IGP (Prisons) Mr. Sangliana, director of Peoples' Watch Mr. Henry, and director Indian Social Institute, Ahmedabad, Fr. P.D Mathew will participate.

The chief justice of the Karnataka High Court Justice Joseph Cyriac will be the chief guest in the valedictory function.

”The main objective of the conference is to provide the participants with new insights, faster fellowship among the members, and to evaluate the past and plan for the future,” said the national co–ordinator, Fr. Josekutty Kalayil, MST.
