Asian Christian Faculty Fellowship Conference to be held on August 6 & 7

On August 6 and 7, Union Christian College in Aluva (Kerala) will host "the India Chapter Conference of the Asian Christian Faculty Fellowship (ACFF) which is sponsored by the United Board for Christian Higher Education in Asia (UBCHEA).

The event will be held at the AELI Hills, in Aluva where about fifty faculty members from colleges in different parts of India will attend the conference.

The conference is themed, “Relevant Christian Presence in Colleges and Universities Today.”

Prof. (Dr.) Scaria Zacharia, Former Head, Department of Malayalam, Sree Sankara University, is the keynote speaker.

Other speakers who will address in different sections include Dr.Patricia Stranahan, President, UBCHEA (New York), Dr.Betty Cernol–McCann, Associate Vice President for Programs, UBCHEA (Hong Kong),Dr. Paul Appasamy (Director, Madras School of Economics, and Member, Board of Trustees, UBCHEA), and Rev.(Prof.) Thomas John (former Head, Dept. of Psychology, U C College).

The United Board for Christian Higher Education in Asia voted in May 2001 to establish the Asian Christian Higher Education Institute (Asian Institute).

The Institute promotes greater collaboration and mutual support among Academic Institutions in Asia.

It aims to identify, support and coordinate programs that will strengthen a Christian presence in Asian Academic Communities
