A team of Christian women who were on an outreach programme in Andhra Pradesh were attacked by a group of Hindu fanatics at Tadoor in Mahabubnagar district.
The incident happened on 8 August 2007, when a team led by Sarah consisting of Mercy, Phying and Laxmi adjoined by Pastor Joseph of Mennonite Brethren Assembly and a few elders and church members were traveling from Nagarkurnool to Tadoor in the same district.
On their journey halt, they were surrounded by school children who asked for books and tracts. Upon requests they began the distribution while a group of Hindu fanatics objected and threatened to beat them up.
The team however left only to later return to interact with the people. Enraged by their attitude the Hindu fanatics alerted the local media and photographed the team.
