Biggest Christmas Concert in Bangalore

The Gloria Deo, considered to be one of Asia's largest Christmas concert, was held in Bangalore on December 20, this month. The Yuletide concert, which happened in Palace Grounds conducted by the Global Council of India Christians – churches, was a complete entertainer communicating the message of love and compassion through music.

Starting with some dazzling performances by the students of top Bangalore schools, the concert contained popular Christmas carols along with dance performances. Two bollywoods biggest stars, Anil and Reena Kant, had some interesting traditional Punjabi bangra numbers inculcating the spirit of Christmas into it.

However says, GCIC, "The highlight of the event was the presence of the World Twenty20 Indian Cricket star Robin Uthappa who apart from cricket, spoke of his ardent belief and faith in Jesus. He spoke on how his faith, helped him perform well at international levels in spite of his poor form.

The concert even welcomed a famous Indian guitarist, Benny Prasad, who has performed at the Olympic Games, and is known for his unique guitar called the Bentar. He is worldwide known as the, "Worlds only Bongo Guitarist."

Apart from Indian stars, the concert featured artists of International reputation like Ken Henson, Cindy Wilcox and Shofar from the US and Kevin Wilson from UK.

Bangalore has a sizeable Christian presence ? over four lakh in number. They come from all corners of the country with their varied cultural, linguistic and regional backgrounds and traditions.
