The Global Council of Indian Christians (GCIC) is demanding a probe into the murder of a seventeen year old college girl near G Udayagiri in Kandhamal district.
The decomposed body of Banita Pradhan was recovered by the police on Thursday near Dhangadama hill.
Media reported that the Plus II final year student was allegedly raped before being murdered.
The girl's father Sitrian Pradhan informed GCIC that he suspected his daughter was raped and murdered by some local miscreants.
According to the police, the deceased girl was missing from May 9. A police complaint was registered only after villagers found the decomposed body.
An investigation will be carried after the post-mortem report.
The Global Council has expressed concern over the ongoing serial killings of Christians in the area. Earlier, Saul Pradhan, a Christian, was killed and the police refused to hand over the post-mortem report to the widow.
