Christian Minority Colleges target in Andra Pradesh

Andra Pradesh government has decided to constitute a committee to look into the alleged irregularities committed by a group of Christian minority colleges that conducted its own entrance test and made admissions into MBA and MCA courses.

Andhra Pradesh State Council for Higher Education Chairman K.C. Reddy said the Judges Committee also sought some clarifications on several "discrepancies" in the admission process of minority colleges.

He said nine candidates were registered but were not admitted. Similarly, non–minority seats were not offered to minority students in some colleges.

Some Christians have alleged that having a Christian Chief Minister in the state doesn't help Christians in anyway rather it has been used to blackmail the Chief Minister and many anti–Christian elements are increasing by day.

On May 14, 2004 Y. S. Rajasekhara Reddy was sworn in as the first Christian Chief Minister of Andra Pradesh state, a rare feet for a minority politician to have achieved such position.
