'Every Home Crusade' evangelist and five Christian workers were arrested in Bangalore on November 18 night for praying for patients in ESI Hospital in Indranagar, the heart of the city.
Evangelist Chandru normally visits different hospitals on request for praying for patients. The radicals were following the itinerant Christian workers itinerary and trapped them with false allegations and took them to Indiranagar police station, reported Global Council of Indian Christians(GCIC), a Christian advocacy group based in Bangalore.
However, the same news that appear in Deccan Herald daily newspaper gave a very different insight.
Five persons including a woman, were arrested for allegedly cajoling patients to convert their religion (Hinduism to Christianity), at the ESI Hosptial, Indiranagar, reported the newspaper.
Meanwhile, All India Catholic Union (AICU) President Dr John Dayal released the latest statistics of persecution against Christian in the country at an alarming rate 'at least four persecution per week in the year 2007'.
