Thousands of Christians congregated at the Tamenglong Baptist Church complex in Manipur from Dec. 3 - 6 for what was dubbed as the first men's conference.
The four-day event was organised by the Rongmei Naga Baptist Association with the theme "Maturing Toward Faithfulness".
The speakers at the conference called for equal respect of women in the society.
Says Dr. Daisok R. Panmei, executive director of New Hope Ministry, men and women are equal and a society that shows respect to woman earns respect of all.
He underlined the need for women to be part of any decision making for a mature and developing society.
Men dominating women in families, he pointed, must be eschewed so societal development that depends on families can be more effectual.
As many as 52 RNBA churches out of 174 participated in the conference.
In his exhortation speech, Dr.Kinthuijin Mariamei, Vice Principal of Tamenglong College, expressed the need for educating and nurturing children before they are swayed away.
"Remember your past and build your future," he urged.
