Subhash Chouhan, national secretary of Bajrang Dal, demanded the State Government of Andhra Pradesh to soon enact an anti–conversion law to curb conversion of Hindus.
Subhash accused Christians of converting the gullible poor specially those belonging to SC and ST communities into Christianity.
Speaking to reporters, last Tuesday, he alleged that the rate of conversion has gone up under the supervision of the Christian Chief Minister Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy in the State.
Furthermore, he added that the Congress Government in the State and the United Progressive Alliance Government at the Centre are in process to let the SCs maintain the same status and benefits even after conversion into Christianity.
He said that conversion of Hindus into Christianity has reached an alarming rate in Kerala, North–Eastern States, Andhra Pradesh and Maharashtra.
Christian leaders and Catholic prelates have strongly protested the allegation and asked the government for an inquiry.
