New Delhi – Hopegivers International has called upon the Christian community in India to pray and fast for the Hopegivers ministry and their Indian partner, Emmanuel Mission in Kota, in the wake of increase in incidents of sectarian violence and religious intolerance in India.
According to Hopegivers International executive director, Michael Glenn, international Christian community, both in US and other countries, participated with their Indian counterpart in the two day call to prayer and fasting, June 9–10.
"The greatest asset we have is our faith and vision in the future of this ministry, and the best way to express this is in united prayer. Nothing is impossible when we unite in prayer worldwide," Glenn said.
Glenn said that the emphasis of this month's call to prayer will be on Hopegivers Sunday, June 25, and the need to complete the Wall of Hope in Kota. This barrier is designed to help protect 2,500 orphans in the Emmanuel Mission Raipura Hope Home.
"Some of the children in the home are sponsored with gifts from Hopegivers International’s supporters. In Africa and India, Hopegivers International is helping to feed over 20,000 orphaned and abandoned children every month – but only about 900 actually have been sponsored by individual Hopegivers in the USA," Glenn added.
Hopegivers has listed the following prayer and praise requests and has urged the faithful to unite together:
• Pray that all operating licenses for Hopegivers International–assisted institutions in Rajasthan will be restored including churches, hospitals, offices, orphanages and schools, and will be able to operate freely.
• Pray that all the orphanages in Rajasthan will continue to function smoothly and that no children will be taken away or harmed in any way.
• Pray that all of the "Apostles and Sisters of Hope" which are sponsored by Hopegivers International, will continue at their posts with every need met both physically and spiritually.
• Pray that we may find more Hopegivers child sponsors so that more new children will be able to be admitted to the Hope Homes this year in Africa and India.
• Pray that the Indian leadership may never waver in faith or lose the God given vision for "One Million Children" to be taken off the streets and cared for in Hope Homes.
• Pray for wisdom, understanding and harmony among the lawyers and legal advisors that are helping Emmanuel Mission in Kota, Jaipur, and New Delhi; particularly Messrs. R. K. Jain, Akram, and Purohit.
• Pray for the thousands of staff and volunteers throughout India that are working so hard to continue the ministry in Rajasthan despite much opposition and setbacks.
• Pray that there may be a complete stop to all cases and charges against EMI leadership and Hopegivers International throughout Rajasthan.
• Pray for leaders of the mission to receive "blanket" bail so that no further arrests and interruptions will be allowed in their ministries.
• Pray for the judges that are dealing with the various cases against the churches, clinics, hospitals, orphanages, schools and other institutions that serve the people of Rajasthan. Ask that God may grant the judges courage and wisdom to give a fair decision in favor of orphans, the sick, the widows and Emmanuel Mission.
• Pray for Dr. John A. Hash, President of "Bible Pathway," who helped found Hopegivers International. He has been taken to the hospital with a heart problem.
• Pray that Emmanuel Seminary and Bible College will attract many new dedicated students this year.
• Praise God for the donors who are faithfully supporting us with $ 1 a day to take care of a child and pray for many more faithful donors and partners to join them.
• Pray for Ron Leonard who is representing Hopegivers in the USA and that God would raise a great team of staff and volunteers to help him represent Hopegivers in US churches, clubs, civic groups and organizations.
• Pray for God to grant wisdom and strength to the staff in the Columbus office. Pray that all the communications that come out of the office will be directed by the Lord and have God's holy anointing upon them.
• Pray that all Hopegivers International and Emmanuel Mission staff and leaders may find favor in the sight of God and men.
