New Delhi – The Catholic Bishops Conference of India (CBCI) has observed November 13 as Indian Communication Day, urging the people working in the various streams of media to focus on promoting social harmony and welfare.
A symposium, entitled, ““Communication media at the service of understanding between peoples,” was conducted wherein eminent media personalities shared their views about the role media has been playing in the society and its growing influence in the lives of the common people.
At the end of symposium, CBCI felicitated the India office of the Union of Catholic Asian News (UCANews) and five media persons for their services in communication fields.
Fr. Henry D’Souza, Secretary of the CBCI Commission for Social Communication organized the programme.
Mr. Oscar Fernandes, Union Minister of Statistics and Programme Implementation was the chief guest.
