Jesus movie touches heart of Hindu village chief

A movie on Jesus shown by Gospel for Asia (GFA) missionaries in a remote village in Bihar has touched the heart of the Hindu village chief and other elders, GFA has reported.

According to GFA report, Pastor Manit's mobile mission team had recently requested the permission from a village chief to show the film on Jesus in the village.

When the chief consented, the team set up the large white screen and LCD projector and began playing the movie which was watched eagerly by many villagers, including the chief.

However, when the movie was half–way through, a group of heavily intoxicated young men confronted Pastor Manit and asked who gave them permission to show the film.

When the pastor politely told them that the village head had agreed to the presentation, the drunk men went to the latter and began mocking and beating him.

Alleging that Christians were trying to convert the Hindus, the drunk men ridiculed the village head and said that he should not have allowed the showing.

To end the harassment and out of respect for the village leader, the team immediately stopped showing the film and left.

However, the next day, the village chief and other influential village leaders came to Pastor Manit and invited the team to come and show the film again. The chief also assured Pastor Manit that he and the other leaders would take responsibility if anyone came to make trouble.

Once again the team set up the equipment and all the people of the village came to watch the film.

However, this time, no one caused any trouble as they watched intently.

After the film concluded, the village chief stood up and turning to the villagers said, "The kind love and mercy we saw in Jesus, we do not see in any of our gods or goddesses."

When the village head asked them whether they wanted to watch it again, they shout in chorus, "Yes!"

Joy overflowed in the hearts of the GFA team because God gave them a wonderful opportunity to share the Gospel through their ministry in Bihar, GFA reported, urging the Christians to pray for the villagers who came to know the Lord through the film ministry so that they grow in faith.
