Jew–nami! Arabs blame quake and tidal wave on sinister Israelis

It was just a matter of time. After the devastating tsunami which killed mostly Muslims, you knew someone was bound to discover that the Jews did it.

It took more than a week, but the Arab press did not disappoint.

Mahmoud Bakri, in an investigative piece called “Humanity in Danger,” in the Egyptian nationalist weekly Al–Usbu, claim that the earthquake and tsunami in Asia may have resulted from joint nuclear testing by the U.S., Israel, and India. [translation by MEMRI]:

Bakri starts the article with the following hypothetical questions: “Was [the earthquake] caused by American, Israeli, and Indian nuclear testing on 'the day of horror?' Why did the 'Ring of Fire' explode?”

He answers himself: “... According to researchers' estimates, there are two possible [explanations] for what happened. The first is a natural, divine move, because the region is in the 'Ring of Fire,' a region subject to this destructive type of earthquakes.”

“The second possibility is that it was some kind of human intervention that destabilized the tectonic plates, an intervention that is caused only in nuclear experiments and explosions. What strengthens this direction [of thought] are the tectonic plates [under] Indian soil [sic], since in the recent few months, India conducted over seven nuclear tests to strengthen its nuclear program against the Pakistani [nuclear program].”

“[Various] reports have proven that the tectonic plates in India and Australia collided with the tectonic plates of Europe and Asia. [It has also been proven] that India recently obtained high[–level] nuclear technology, and a number of Israeli nuclear experts and several American research centers were [involved in preparing this].”

“The three most recent tests appeared to be genuine American and Israeli preparations to act together with India to test a way to liquidate humanity. In the[ir] most recent test, they began destroying entire cities over extensive areas. Although the nuclear explosions were carried out in desert lands, tens of thousands of kilometers away from populated areas, they had a direct effect on these areas.

“Since 1992, many research [institutes] monitoring earthquakes across the world, such as the International Center for the [Study] of Earthquakes [sic] in Britain and in Turkey and other countries, [indicated] the importance of no nuclear testing in the 'Ring of Fire,' where the most recent earthquake struck, because this region is thought to be one of the most geologically active regions over millions of years. Thus, the international centers have always classified it as one of the most dangerous regions [and] likely to shift at any given moment, even without human interference.”

“But the scientific reports stated that there had been nuclear activity in this region – particularly after America's recent decision to rely largely on the Australian desert – part of which is inside the 'Ring of Fire' – for its secret nuclear testing.”

“Similarly, many international reports spoke of joint Indian–Israeli nuclear activity. Moreover, only this year Arab and Islamic countries intervened more than three times in the U.S. to stop this joint nuclear activity.”

“Nevertheless, although so far it has not been proven that secret Indian–Israeli nuclear testing is what caused the destructive earthquake, there is evidence that the recent nuclear tests, the exchange of nuclear experts between India and Israel, and the American pressure on Pakistan regarding its nuclear cooperation with Asian and Islamic countries [by providing India with advanced nuclear technology in an attempt to stop Pakistani activity] – all these pose a big question mark regarding the causes of the severe earthquake in Asia.”

Blaming the Jews, and more recently the Israelis, for calamities, natural and unnatural, has a long tradition in Europe, of course, but there has been an impressive resurgence in recent years, led by “researchers” from the Arab world.

In 2003 the Saudi official newspaper, al–Watan (the Nation), offered to the world the original accusation that a professor at Riyadh University has scientifically proven that the Jews routinely slaughter Moslem children and drain their blood to make Hamentaschen [Ears of Haman, a Purim holiday delicacy].

In August 2002, the Paris Supreme Court summoned Ibrahim Naafi', editor of the Egyptian daily Al–Ahram, for having authorized the publication of a controversial article entitled 'Jewish matza is made from Arab blood' in the October 28, 2000 edition of the paper. Naafi' was charged with incitement to anti–Semitism and racist violence.

The Palestinian Authority TV routinely runs history shows with “professors” from one West Bank university or another in which the audience is told that it is scientifically proven, thanks to modern research, that the Zionists (not the Jews, this time) caused the French Revolution (despite the fact that the French Revolution occurred 100 years before modern Zionism came into being).

Other news items on the PA TV shows inform the world that Israeli soldiers routinely rob organs from the bodies of dead Moslem children (children's organs are healthy and thus good for transplants in to aging and ailing Jews).

Most recently we learn from PA TV that Israeli soldiers rob the eyes of dead Moslem children for corneal transplants. Israel has routinely been charged with poisoning Arab water supplies and radiating Arab children.

Lebanese, Egyptian, Syrian, and Iranian TV stations run historical soap operas which treated the Protocols of the Elders of Zion forgery as fact.

Of course, Israelis are also famously blamed for the 9/11 attacks, even after al–Qaeda proudly took responsibility for it. But then some said that Israel created al–Qaeda to blacken the name of Islam and instigate American action against Islamic terrorists.

The Jews, of course, in their clever guise as “neo–cons' are blamed for puppeteering the Bush Administration and provoking the two wars against Iraq.

No doubt Israel will soon be blamed for losing only a handful of its citizens in the tsunami (most, we Israelis know, were off doing drugs in full moon parties) and for not providing aid to the victims (even though Israel was first on the scene and appears to have donated per capita more than most if not all other nations).

One thing is clear. The very existence of Jews and Israelis gives Arab fanatics and Islamic Jihadist, as well as their fans in the West, a golden opportunity to reveal themselves as murderous psychotics exploiting the ignorance of their oppressed masses, deep–seated xenophobia, and hatred of progress to cover their own sense of impotence and inferiority.

In this the Israelis and the Jews, by existing, are succeeding remarkably. For this we are certainly to be blamed.
