Karunya University will hold its 6th convocation on Saturday, August 20, to mark the competition of its 25th anniversary since its inception.
The ceremony will see 1,828 students being awarded undergraduate and postgraduate degree certificates in different streams of Engineering, Management, Science and Humanities of the University.
In all a maximum of 218 Gold Medals will be presented to those students who excelled in their academic and co-curricular activities.
The High Commissioner for Canada in India, Mr. Stewart Beck has consented to be the Chief Guest and will deliver the convocation address.
During the occasion, distinguished scientist and Chief Controller Research and Development of Defence Research and Development Organisation, Ministry of Defence, Mr. W Selvamurthy will be conferred the Honorary Doctorate of Science degree.
Dr. Paul Dhinakaran, Chancellor of Karunya University will preside over the function along with Dr. Paul P. Appasamy, Vice Chancellor and Dr. (Mrs.) Anne Mary Fernandez, Registrar.
The University, with a social concern of eradicating societal problems using technology, will showcase success stories in water management, energy conservation, innovative healthcare solutions and annihilation of hunger and poverty.
Karunya University, founded by evangelist Dr. DGS Dhinakaran, is an internationally accredited university that has produced thousands of outstanding professionals in the past 25 years.
