An exhibition train showcasing the life and works of Nobel laureate Mother Teresa on Saturday, December 18, reached Kozhikode, Kerala.
The 'Mother Express' train was launched by the Indian Railways to honour the services of Mother Teresa to India's sick, poor and needy.
With four completely air conditioned compartments, the exhibition train showcases the life and works of the humanitarian icon.
The train was flagged-off by Railway Minister Mamata Banerjee on August 26 this year from Sealdah station, West Bengal.
The train has already covered over 40 cities, creating awareness on the life and philanthropic deeds of Mother Teresa.
Before reaching Kozhikode, the train had passed Mangalore where an exhibition was open to the public, on December 16.
S K Raina, Divisional Railway Manager, Phalghat division, had inaugurated the exhibition. In his inaugural address, Raina said he wished the works and achievements of Mother Teresa would spread the message of love and inspire future generations to work for the poor.
Mother Teresa was known for her extraordinary love and dedication to the poor, homeless and diseased people. She died on September 5, 1997 at the age of 87.
She was a recipient of many national and international awards, including the Bharat Ratna, the highest civilian award of India.
