Nun identifies 2 rape suspects: Kandhamal

The nun who was raped during the communal violence against Christians in Orissa has finally identified two of her rapists.

During a test identification parade of suspects on Monday, the 29-year-old identified the suspects after 50 people were lined up in the Choudwar jail in Cuttack district along with all 10 suspects.

One of the senior official of the state crime branch of police said, "The TI (test identification) parade was successfully conducted in the afternoon. She identified two people."

Also the Archbishop of the Bhubaneswar-Cuttack diocese, Raphael Cheenath said, "It's good that the parade has finally been conducted."

Previously the police had named one Mitu Patnaik as prime accused among the 10 suspects arrested and were planning to conduct a DNA test on him.

According to some sources, it was said that police was planning to submit the charge sheet in the case before January 28th.

The nun who was raped hails from Dhama in Sambalpur district and was working at Divyajyoti Pastoral Centre at K Nuagaon.
