The Crime Branch (CB) of Orissa Police has sought permission for another identification parade in the nun rape case.
The CB authorities have urged the Sub-divisional Judicial Magistrate of a local court in Kandhamal to permit the identification parade after five suspected persons were recently arrested.
On March 21, police arrested Behera and Govind Pujari for having allegedly misbehaved with the 29-year-old Catholic nun who was raped and paraded naked on August 25, in the aftermath of the killing of a local VHP leader.
The police have so far arrested 14 of the 30 persons on whom case has been registered. Efforts are in progress to nab the other 16.
Earlier, stating that she has no faith in the investigation, the nun refused to attend the identification parade of the accused in Kandhamal despite orders by a court.
The high court later Dec 18 asked the police to conduct the test identification parade in the Choudwar jail, some 30 km from Bhubaneshwar.
