Orissa state police on Thursday arrested one more person in the rape case of a nun last year.
The accused Ghanshyam Bishoyee is reported to have abetted the rapists on August 25, 2008, when seething mobs went on a violent spree in retaliation to the murder of a Hindu religious leader.
According to the police, Bishoyee was arrested from K Nuagaon in the Baliguda area of Kandhamal district. Bishoyee is one of the main accused in the rape case.
Last month, during the second Test Identification Parade (TIP), the 29-year-old nun identified Sitaram Patra (36) among 70 others. Patra became the third person identified in the rape case till date.
The first TIP was held on January 5 when the nun identified two of the ten accused. Police have already begun the filing of charge sheets.
The nun was attacked by a mob and forcibly taken to a room where she was allegedly raped and paraded naked. The incident occurred just two days after the killing of VHP leader Swami Laxmananda Saraswati.
