Prov 16:6
Through love and faithfulness sin is atoned for; through the fear of the LORD a man avoids evil.
All human sins stem from not fearing God, and not acknowledging His existence. A corrupted person does not have a heart for God, so he or she has no fear of God. The Apostle Paul recorded, "There is no fear of God before their eyes"(Rom 3:18). Therefore, a human sin stems from unbelief and atheism. Those who have not experienced born–again, have no fear of God.
Fearing God has both positive and negative sides. All Christians should fear God and revere Him, knowing His holiness and glory. To offer a proper worship, we should have a heart of fearing Him. Fearing God is the beginning of knowledge(Prov 9:10). Cornelius in the book of Acts was a God–fearer, so received grace of salvation from God(Acts 10:2). Fear of God also helps a new Christian to continuously grow.
Fearing God brings a trembling fear and terror before the Lord. Christians do no sin in this world when they possess the fear. The writer of the Proverb wrote, "Through love and faithfulness sin is atoned for; through the fear of the LORD a man avoids evil"(Prov 16:6). The writer of Hebrews also said, "Moreover, we have all had human fathers who disciplined us and we respected them for it. How much more should we submit to the Father of our spirits and live!"(Heb 12:9).
Ananias and Sapphira were killed because they deceived the Holy Spirit, and had no fear of God. God judged them to make people revere Him, and to keep purity before God. Corinthians were taken their lives because of their sins. The apostle Paul said, "Therefore, whoever eats the bread or drinks the cup of the Lord in an unworthy manner will be guilty of sinning against the bo요 and blood of the Lord. A man ought to examine himself before he eats of the bread and drinks of the cup. For anyone who eats and drinks without recognizing the body of the Lord eats and drinks judgement on himself. That is why many among you are weak and sick, and a number of you have fallen asleep"(1 Cor 11:27).
Therefore, Christians should live a holy life with a gratitude to God's grace, and blessings.
