A pastor from New Delhi is the latest to fall prey to 'Hindu aggression' after men armed with rods and hockey sticks ambushed his house last week.
Accusing Pastor A.K Wilson of indulging in forceful conversion, Hindu extremists on March 9 assaulted and robbed the preacher in New Delhi's Uttam Nagar.
Pastor Wilson is the founder of Apostolic Assembly Church, ministering among the poorer sections in the society.
According to the Evangelical Fellowship of India (EFI), the "extremists forcibly entered Pastor A.K Wilson's house shouting abusive anti-Christian words. They threatened the pastor to vacate his house in a week time or else face dire consequences."
"The extremists beat up the pastor, his wife and son with rods and hockey sticks and took rupees 15,000/ from them. They threatened the pastor that they will burn his house and murder his family if he did not leave the area in one week," EFI ascertained.
The family have sustained minor injuries and received hospital treatment.
Uttam Nagar station house officer (SHO), R K Tyagi told EFI that police investigation has been initiated. A formal First Information Report (FIR) is yet to be registered.
The Evangelical body has requested prayers "for justice, boldness for the pastor and his family and for the growth of the church."
