Persecution Update: 'Attacks continue torment Christians'

A Pastor of an Assembly of God Church in Hajipur, Bihar, was abused and beaten by Hindu radicals for distributing Christian resources.

The radicals intimated Pastor Babu David while he was distributing books, which was approved by the school officials, said Dr. Sajan K. George, President of Global Council of Indian Christians (GCIC).

"While they were distributing books, all of sudden a mob of Hindu extremists entered the school campus and snatched the books and started beating the pastor and later misbehaving with the women," alleged GCIC.

They later gathered leaders from extremist organizations to implicate the pastor on false charges, added GCIC.

GCIC requested prayers for the pastor, who has been shifted to Patna.

In another incident, a group of 20 RSS/BJP activists attacked believers from Kurnool Christian Assembly Church in Andhra Pradesh, who were involved in an outreach ministry.

The radicals after snatching the tracts and Christian resources severely injured its missioners Vijay Kumar and Anand. The injury forced them to be under medical care for at least 2 days.
