A church in Bihar was attacked with bombs and guns on Sunday, critically injuring the priest and four others.
According to sources, the church at Badhia village was attacked during the Sunday mass attended by over 70 people including women and children.
Police identified the assailant as Rajesh Singh who was arrested immediately after he hurled a bomb through the church's window causing splinter injuries.
"When the faithful ran for cover and tried to come out of the church, Singh stopped them at gunpoint and shot James in his abdomen,'' a source said adding the priest has been sent to Varanasi in a critical condition.
Forcible conversion for the past four days in the church is stated to be the reason behind the attack, sources said.
The police recovered four live bombs and a countrymade pistol from the possession of Rajesh whom Rohtas SP Vikas Vaibhav claimed is "mentally abnormal".
The youth told media that he would have killed himself if he had one more bullet in the pistol.
