Prominent Christian Leader Condemns the blasphemous Christ–like bin Laden Art Work

President of a leading Christian advocacy group in the country has strongly condemned a painting depicting Osama bin Laden in a Christ–like pose and a statue of the Virgin Mary covered in a burqa.

"These artworks depicting Osama bin Laden in a Christ–like pose and a statue of the Virgin Mary covered in a burqa are to be condemned in the strongest possible terms," stated Dr. Sajan George, National President of Bangalore base Global Council of Indian Christian (GCIC).

This painting in questing is 'Bearded Orientals: Making the Empire Cross' by Priscilla Bracks its a kind of "double vision" print that depicts both Jesus and bin Laden in the same light. Though the official website Priscilla Bracks has removed the painting, many websites have picked up the picture and can be seen elsewhere.

And there is Luke Sullivan's 'The Fourth Secret of Fatima', it is a statue of Mary, her head and torso obscured by a blue burqa like the one Afghan women had to wear under the militant Taliban.

"The Artworks 'Hurt the Religious Sentiments of the Christian community." Dr. Sajan added.

"Freedom of expression also warrants responsible behaviour, Artistic freedom cannot trample upon Religious Sentiments," he lamented.
