The Way to get blessed in New Year

2 Cor 6:2

… I tell you, now is the time of God's favor, now is the way of salvation.

To glorify God in our lives, to be the person God wants us, and to do the things God wants us in New Year, we need to see what the Bible teaches us.
First, we ought to incline our ears to the Word of God(Ps 119:105). We need to realize God as our Creator, Lord, King and the good Shepherd. Also we need to see how worthy our God who always abides with us is. Our lives, time and everything we have belong to the hands of God. Therefore we need to have an obedient life to the voice of God. Regardless of our situation God speaks to us what we need to hear through His word. We read in I Samuel 3:9 "Speak, Lord, for your servant is listening". When we have the desire to listen and to obey the word the coming year will be much more blissful.

Second, we ought to desire God's grace today. We tend to procrastinate today because we think tomorrow will always be there for us. We procrastinate what we have to do today, not just in our daily tasks but in walk with God as well. There is grace for today, and the grace for tomorrow is different from that of today. Our daily walk with God must be in present form. Paul in 2 Corinthians 5:12–6:1 teaches us that we are made into God's ambassadors of reconciliation and the new creation through the death and the resurrection of Jesus Christ. In 2 Corinthians 6:2 Paul says, I tell you, now is the time of God's favor, now is the day of salvation. Therefore we need to desire God's grace today.

Third, we ought to live an obedient life to the Lord. The Bible tells us the hearts of men are hardened and evil. We read in Psalm 95:8 "do not harden your heart." The hardened heart is our emotional difference, stubborn will and intellectual pride. When our heart is hardened, we cannot experience the joy and the pleasure from God. In other words, when our heart is hardened, we no pride, then the pride leads us to rely only on ourselves.

The evil and hardened heart can be broken only when we are filled with Holy Spirit(Gal 5:16–24). When our ears incline to the word of God and desire today's grace and when we let Holy Spirit change our hardened heart to an obedient heart, this coming year will be the year of Favor with God.
