World Vision Taiwan has announced that it is all set to send a team to provide aid to poor children in India.
According to the announcement made by the Christian charity organization, the team will shoot video footage of local children living on the streets and in shanty towns. The video will be shown in Taiwan to help people understand the children's needs.
The charity said that in Calcutta alone, there are more than 5,500 ghettos, which are home to one–third of the city's population. The number of street children and child laborers is estimated to be 100,000.
World Vision Taiwan has been helping children by setting up a center to offer emergency resettlement and educational programs. The charity also provides medical, educational and job assistance to underprivileged children who are unable to stay at the center.
