Christian organization to equip South India church workers with literary resources

Chennai, Nov. 8, 2004 – To express their solidarity for the persecuted Church in India, a Christian organization based in the West is preparing to equip evangelical workers in southern India with adequate resources.

Christian Resources International’s Harry Palmer said that they are hoping to send two 20–foot containers to Andhra Pradesh and Kerala States by January. "Both of these containers are going to contain seminary materials. There'll be some Bibles but a lot of theological books in there to help with their library. We need to pray that the literature gets there safely," he said.

Palmer shared that they are trying to raise about ten–thousand dollars to ship the containers. Once in motion, it will take three months for the materials to arrive in India.

Their purpose, he disclosed, becomes even more critical, once put into circulation. They're trying to send what will be most needed. "Pray that it will meet the obligations,” he said. “The libraries want to be accredited and these volumes will help them to be accredited. Pray for the nationals that are being taught in the seminary and bible schools that they will be bold and that they will be protected because it's dangerous what they do."

Christian Resources International is a non–profit organization providing free Christian literature to missionaries and national pastors in addition to shipping books, Bibles, Sunday School materials, tracts, and more overseas.
