Growing in Godliness

The culture we live in places great emphasis on physical fitness. However, the Word of God tells us of another training we undergo...

"physical training is of some value, but godliness has value for all things" (1 Timothy 4:8 NIV).

"Until I come, devote yourself to the public reading of Scripture, to preaching and to teaching" (1 Timothy 4:13 NIV)

"Watch your life and doctrine closely. Persevere in them..." (1 Timothy 4:16 NIV)

Allowing scriptural principles to shape your life, will allow growth that is beautiful in God's eyes...

"like a tree planted by streams of water, which yields its fruit in season and whose leaf does not wither." (Psalm 1:3 NIV)

Able to withstand the storms of life so that the nourishing sap may work within you to produce...

"love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self–control. Against such things there is no law." (Galatians 5:22–23 NIV)

Let us persevere to produce the spiritual fruit. A life that is both patient and self–controlled, peaceful and content, kind and faithful.

Against such things there is no law.

Checking for patience to God's time, kindness to others, faithfulness to His will, gentleness in your relationships, and self–control in our actions...let us grow closer to God each day...
