Mizoram to host 'North East Choral Festival' 2009

Mizoram will host the first ever India's North East Choral Festival (Zaipawl Kutpui) on 29 July 2009 in Aizawl, the capital of city.

The Choral Festival will be attended by Choirs from Assam, Nagaland, Arunachal Pradesh and Mizoram.

"Any interested persons may attend this festival," announced Mizoram government information website.

Pu R.Romawia, Speaker of Mizoram Legislative Assembly will be Chief Guest at the festival to be held at Vanapa Hall in the heart of Aizawl city, the programme will begin at Noon.

Mizoram is part of the Bible belt in India, more than 80 percent of one million state population is Christian.

Choirs from Mizoram are known all over India.
