The impact of the economic downturn has left many reeling. At such irksome standpoint what one needs is complete faith and obedience in God, says a Christian author whose journal was recently published in India.
Agnes Olubunmi Amos is the author of "The Journey of a Christian Job Seeker" that guides job seekers going through a crisis to surmount their desperation relying on God.
Described as a book of psalms for the unemployed, Agnes' memoir urges people to position and anchor oneself in the hand of God to be strong, bold, and moving forward during hard-pressed situations.
The American business professional who holds an executive MBA from the University of Hull, United Kingdom, and currently lives in the United States, is travelling across India encouraging the young and old to spiritually conquer emotions and fears during life's trials.
If one is employed, then he/she must find peace at work and show honesty and integrity. But if you are a job seeker, the key is to revalue and reshape your skills and plan for the future with optimism, says the author.
The fact is God walks with you through every trial you face. Agnes says one can see that He is truly the guide and makes the path straight and the hills flat for those who trust in His wisdom and mercy.
In an interview earlier, Agnes urged job seekers to "never give up in the heat of battle because that is when your miracle is about to happen."
"We serve a God who specializes in impossible situations; nothing that happens here on earth limits what God can do from His throne in heaven. Crashing world markets and economic turmoil mean nothing to Him," she had said.
Agnes decided to pen her memoir after it took several months, dozens of resumes and at least six failed interviews to land another job.
For at least 15 months since September 2007, when Agnes quit her job as the director of marketing and events for the Society for Bio-molecular Sciences in the UK, the Christian found only God as her comfort.
Agnes currently works as the senior vice president of an international association in US.
